Gong Yao Min 龚 瑶敏

Gong Yao Min 龚 瑶敏, born in 1964, is a native of Anhui Province, China. He graduated from The Anhui Educational University of China in 1990 and The Singapore Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1999.

In 2002, his artwork, “Colours Space” was awarded Painting of the Year (Top Prize of all Categories). In 2011, “My Dream Land” was honoured the “Top Prize of all Categories” once again.

In 2003, Mr. Gong held a solo art exhibition entitled “A Stroll in Lion City” at the prestigious Esplanade exhibition hall and it was well received by the local art community.

In 2006, he painted a large artwork entitled “The Impression of Shanghai” and was selected for the inaugural China Nationwide Cityscape Art Exhibition organized by the Chinese Artist Association in Shenzhen, China. In 2007, another artwork, “The Lion City” was selected by the Chinese Artist Association for its annual art exhibition.

In August 2012, Mr. Gong achieved another level of success as he held an important solo art exhibition entitled “City and Beyond” at the Singapore National Art Museum.

In 2014, Mr. Gong participated in the 12th China National Art Competition and was awarded the Excellent Work Award. The winning artwork, “Watching China from Singapore” (210 x 180cm) was exhibited at the renowned National Art Museum of China in Beijing in Dec 2014.

The China National Art Competition is the highest level art competition held every 5 years in China started in 1949 and it is a platform to select talented artists across China.
